Michael A. Richey graduated from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, where he served as a Student Attorney for the Free Legal Aid Clinic, representing indigent inner-city clients in a variety of legal matters. A native of Alpena, Michigan, he did his undergraduate study at Michigan State University, where he served as Student Defender for the Associated Students of MSU and represented fellow students in campus judicial disciplinary actions. Mr. Richey spent a semester studying overseas at the University of London, where he concentrated on European Political Science and Comparative Legal Systems.

Prior to joining Platt, Jacobus, Fielding, and Torres, Mr. Richey worked as an Associate for a prominent Brevard law firm, where he gained experience in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense and family law. At PJFT, Mr. Richey works primarily in the area of Workers' Compensation.

Mr. Richey is a member of several professional organizations including, the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Brevard County Bar Association, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Richey has also served on the Board of Directors of the Brevard County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.
