Joseph T. Giglia, II is an associate with the law firm of Platt Jacobus Fielding & Torres, Trial Lawyers, LLC. Born in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Giglia has lived in Florida since 1996. He graduated cum laude and received a B.S. degree from the State University of New York at Brockport. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He furthered his studies overseas at Brunell University, in London, England.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Giglia worked as a prosecuting attorney with the Office of the State Attorney in Brevard County from 1996 through 2001. During his time there, he prosecuted numerous felony trials, including cases of manslaughter and vehicular homicide. In 2001, he was named volunteer of the year for the Prosecution Alternative for Youth (PAY) Program operated by the State Attorneys office.
Mr. Giglia currently practices in the area of personal injury. Outside the office, he holds the position of adjunct professor for Columbia College. Mr. Giglia teaches courses in evidence, criminal law, judicial process, ethics, criminal procedure, and labor relations. He is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association and the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. Mr. Giglias hobbies include playing ice-hockey for a team in Rockledge, Florida.
